Alex Reinhart is the Founder and Managing Partner of Hinterland Capital, a Milwaukee-based private investment firm focused on acquiring lower middle market manufacturing businesses, particularly in the food, consumer, and industrial sectors. With nearly two decades of finance and deal experience, Alex brings a hands-on, operationally focused approach to investing — one rooted in partnership, integrity, and long-term alignment.
Before founding Hinterland, Alex spent eight years with a Milwaukee-area private equity firm, where he led origination and operational initiatives across several successful food manufacturing investments. That experience shaped his belief that the best outcomes come from close collaboration with management and thoughtful execution after the deal is done.
Alex founded Hinterland to be a different kind of investment partner — one that values transparency, craftsmanship, and genuine relationships with owners and teams.
A Wisconsin native, Alex is an avid golfer, hockey player, and cross-country skier who enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Christine, and their Australian Shepherd, Maya.
